The original Chained Together objective is to climb out of Hell and reach the summit. We have not verified an exact summit height from an official primary source, so this guide does not present a precise total as confirmed. For practical progress tracking, a dated player-authored guide places the original map's later Garden area at approximately 3,200–3,600 metres; that is an area range, not an official finishing height.

If you are searching for Chained Together height or ending information, use landmarks alongside the displayed height rather than relying on a single number from a video. The guide below keeps story spoilers low and distinguishes original-map community estimates from official achievement names and future content.

01

Read the original-map height estimates correctly

Steam player Ranvoss published Chained Together Level Meters on July 27, 2025, with a December 13, 2025 update. The table below attributes that guide's broad brackets. We have not reproduced the route in the current build.

Area named in Ranvoss's guideCommunity-reported approximate range
The Hell Cliffs0–300 m
The Car Race300–400 m
The Whispering Vault400–600 m
The Subway Station600–1,100 m
The City1,100–1,600 m
The Harbor1,600–2,100 m
The Temple2,100–2,400 m
The Shrine2,400–2,700 m
The Deities2,700–3,200 m
The Garden3,200–3,600 m

These are navigation references, not measured official boundary coordinates. The guide groups the climb into broad sections and does not separately list every area named by the achievements. Do not read the top of its last bracket as proof that the summit or completion trigger occurs at that exact metre.

A useful application is “our surroundings resemble the Harbor section, so find a Harbor-specific demonstration.” A less useful application is demanding that a particular doorway appear at the exact first number in the table.

02

Match walkthrough landmarks before copying a route

The official Steam achievement page provides another way to identify progress. Its named areas include Underworld, Hell Cliffs, The Car Race, The Mysterious Cave, The Subway Station, The City, The Rooftops, The Warehouse, The Harbor, The Temple, The Asian Shrine, The Deities and The Garden.

Those labels help you recognize which part of the original experience a player is discussing. They are not a complete coordinate map. Community walkthroughs may use alternate names or combine nearby sections; Ranvoss's “Whispering Vault” and “Shrine” labels should not be silently rewritten as additional official achievement areas.

Before following a video, compare the visible surroundings, its map or mode description and its publication date. A matching height with different scenery is a reason to stop and identify the difference. It is not a reason to take an unfamiliar jump simply because the narrator's counter looks close to yours.

03

Plan the early climb around learning

Use the lower sections to establish a repeatable group routine. Identify the destination, agree on the movement order and choose a place to pause once everyone is across. When an obstacle is unfamiliar, a clear destination description helps more than a confident estimate of how many metres it gains.

For example, “regroup on the wide platform beside the wall” gives each player a recognizable target. “Meet at the next hundred metres” may leave teammates aiming for different places. This is an editorial coordination recommendation, not a fixed route instruction.

If a section repeatedly sends the group backward, separate the problems. Are players selecting different destinations, starting at different times or moving onward before teammates have landed? Change one part of the plan on the next attempt. The beginner guide develops this approach without claiming a tested sequence of every jump.

04

Use middle-map landmarks to organize practice

Once the group recognizes an environment, use that name when discussing what to improve. A note such as “we need a clearer route through the City” is easier to connect with a relevant walkthrough than a height reading without context.

Keep the note specific enough to be useful on return: the obstacle's appearance, the intended landing and the part of the plan that failed. A screenshot can help your own group remember the scene, but it does not turn an estimated height into an official coordinate.

For a practice session, choose a manageable section rather than demanding a full completion every time. Select the appropriate game mode before you start. Beginner's checkpoint assistance serves a different goal from a Normal or Lava run, and the current store's reward rules should guide any achievement attempt.

05

Prepare for the later climb without inventing an ending

The community table places the Temple, Shrine, Deities and Garden toward the later part of the original route. Treat those names as preparation markers: confirm that everyone wants to continue, maintain the same communication routine and keep unfamiliar shortcuts separate from your planned attempt.

Being close to a reported upper range is not a reason to rush. Continue identifying landing areas and waiting for the group. A player celebrating or changing direction while teammates are still completing an obstacle can disrupt the plan just as easily late in a session as near the start.

For ending searches, the verified premise is the escape and summit objective. The reviewed primary sources do not establish a count of alternate endings or a hidden “true ending” route. This page therefore does not invent one or describe an unverified final cinematic.

Let your own session's completion feedback establish the result rather than quitting because a community number has been reached. If the goal includes an achievement, compare it with the official achievement definitions, not only the height display.

06

Keep height, collectibles and saving separate

A high point, a collected wing and a restorable session are different kinds of progress. Do not assume that reaching a particular range automatically collects an item, creates a checkpoint or guarantees that quitting will preserve the group's position.

The official achievement list confirms ten Wings of Freedom, while historical player guides describe their locations. Use the wings guide for those attributed routes rather than inferring a collectible's position from the broad area table above.

Likewise, review saving and checkpoints before arranging a break. Establish your own session's restoration behavior early, when testing it costs little progress, instead of discovering what it restores after a long climb.

07

Do not apply this table to the announced new map

The October 8, 2026 official announcement scheduled a new map for November 12, 2026. At this page's October 22 review date, it had not yet been released. Ranvoss's 2025 original-map table cannot establish the new map's height, route, collectibles or ending.

Workshop content also needs its own creator's description and landmarks. Before using any height reference, identify which map the session and reference actually concern. Keeping that context clear will help you find a useful route explanation while avoiding a precise-looking number that answers a different question.
