There are 10 Wings of Freedom to collect in Chained Together, confirmed by the official Steam achievement. The original-map route below follows two Steam player guides from 2024: start near the first stairs, then search the Vault, Subway, City, rooftops, Harbor, Temple, Shrine, Deities and Garden. Treat their meter readings as approximate landmarks.
This guide was reviewed on October 22, 2026. We have not tested these locations in the current build. The table describes the original climb, not the new map announced for November 12, 2026. Its purpose is to make the attributed older route easier to follow without presenting it as a newly verified walkthrough.
01
All 10 wings: locations and approximate heights
The height sequence comes from noel's original illustrated guide, published June 22 and updated July 2, 2024. The navigation clues come from Harmachis Chepre Re Atum's location guide. Neither is a developer specification.
| Wing | Approximate height | Reported area and landmark |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 m | Starting area: look right before the stairs. |
| 2 | 512 m | Whispering Vault: turn around near the button puzzle. |
| 3 | 673 m | Subway Station: pipe maze toward the area's end. |
| 4 | 1,220 m | City: small maze inside a building under construction. |
| 5 | 1,394 m | Over the Buildings: after two fan jumps, climb the building on the right. |
| 6 | 1,684 m | Harbor: toward the end of the area. |
| 7 | 2,166 m | Temple: near the beginning of the area. |
| 8 | 2,523 m | Asian Shrine: behind a house, according to noel's note. |
| 9 | About 3,130 m | Deities: around the drums; the guides report 3,131 m and 3,135 m. |
| 10 | 3,313 m | Garden: near the large aqueduct. |
For wing nine, 3,131 m and 3,135 m are competing reports, not two collectibles. Use the Deities drums as the stronger clue. A few meters of disagreement should prompt a visual search around the landmark rather than an assumption that the item disappeared.
02
Prepare a collection run
Choose whether this session is about collecting or finishing quickly. For a first collection attempt, our recommendation is to prioritize searching and communication. A team trying to preserve a fast pace may pass a landmark before everyone has inspected it.
Keep a simple numbered checklist outside the game. Write the wing number, area, whether you actually found it and who still needs to check it. This is an organizational suggestion, not a claim about how the game's inventory or multiplayer collection credit works.
Pick your difficulty deliberately. The current Steam description identifies Beginner as the mode with checkpoints. Read the save and checkpoints guide before relying on recovery during a long outing. A checkpoint, an item pickup and a saved session are separate things to verify on your own setup.
03
Search the lower route before moving on
The first three entries give you an easy way to establish a routine: stop at the named feature, compare the old reference, search visually, then update the checklist. Begin that habit at the starting stairs rather than waiting until the climb becomes demanding.
At the Vault, the useful instruction is to look back near the puzzle. Players naturally focus on what comes next, so assign someone to inspect the approach as well as the exit. At the Subway, identify the pipe maze before interpreting the height reading; reaching the right number somewhere else is insufficient.
For wing four, the construction maze is the distinguishing clue. Mark the entrance you used and communicate before exploring another passage. Our advice is to avoid an improvised split search when the chain or surrounding geometry makes that awkward. Search coordination matters more than covering every passage at once.
04
Connect the rooftop, Harbor and Temple stops
The fifth entry refers to the rooftop section after two fan jumps. Use that sequence to recognize the neighborhood, then locate the building described on the right. The older guide's wording is a navigation reference, not an instruction to reproduce a particular jump input or movement trick.
The Harbor entry is less precise: the source says near the end of the area. Start watching for a possible search stop before committing to the next transition. When a reference is broad, inspecting the surroundings methodically is more useful than treating its meter value as an exact coordinate.
The next wing is reported near the Temple's beginning. Put wings six and seven next to one another on your checklist so a long search around the Harbor does not cause you to overlook the following stop. Pause to confirm which area you are entering before resuming the climb.
05
Finish the Shrine, Deities and Garden search
For wing eight, noel adds a useful direction: behind the house. Examine the building's far side from a position where you can understand the route back. Do not assume the obvious forward path covers every side of a landmark.
For wing nine, use the drums and the approximate 3,130-meter neighborhood together. The source disagreement is small enough that searching only at one displayed number would be counterproductive. If you cannot match the scenery, return to the source images and compare the structures before drawing a conclusion.
The tenth entry names the Garden's large aqueduct. Treat arrival in the Garden as the start of the final search rather than proof the collection is finished. Check your own record against the full numbered list; a missing earlier pickup will not be identified merely by reaching the final landmark.
06
How players reported enabling wings
Both historical guides describe enabling wings from the main menu after collection. Harmachis reports selecting Play, then enabling Use Wings. That is a dated player-reported menu path; the current layout and unlock behavior have not been independently checked here.
After collecting, inspect the options your game actually presents. If an activation option is available, read its label and any accompanying explanation before starting another run. We do not supply an unverified keyboard or controller shortcut, a guaranteed double-jump method, or a claim that an old movement exploit still works.
Separate collection from competitive goals. Noel's guide says wing runs are excluded from leaderboard placement. The current official store says achievement and leaderboard eligibility applies to Normal and Lava modes, but that statement alone does not establish every interaction with wings. Check the rules for your intended run rather than assuming collection grants universal reward eligibility.
07
If a wing seems missing
First confirm the map and landmark, then compare both attributed guides. Record which numbered location you inspected, what scenery you found and what your game displayed. That gives you a useful description if you seek help on the Steam Community.
Avoid deleting saves or downloading a replacement completion file as a first response. Those actions do not establish which pickup you missed. A numbered audit of the route is a more informative starting point, especially when an old guide and a newer build may differ.
For the official collectible requirement and other completion goals, continue to the achievements guide. For a first climb before a dedicated collection attempt, use the beginner guide. The collection plan above should help you search deliberately while keeping historical route information separate from current verified rules.
